1 inch sliders

Has anyone here tried the new 1 inch sliders out ? I have tried them in the strawberry colour on whiting cause bream are in short supply here in summer & they have gone really well. One problem is the blowies love them! I'd be interested to hear if anyone has tried them on bream.

Hey Ravin, I recieved a couple of those one inch sliders in a sample pack from Charlie Brewer's when I ordered a catologue. Since I don't have enough to feed the Swan's blowie population I'll have to wait till I can buy a few packets of them from Warren (hopefully if he gets them in) and then try them out on whiting, i'm sure they would be perfect.

... just cut the body of a 1 1/2 inch slider grub in half and try that. Much the same thing really.

Yeah I reckon! Surely there ain't THAT much difference between a 1 inch slider and a sawn-off 1.75 inch! :) I think it's a marketing ploy to catch all you tackle-aholics (myself included!)

I've been led to believe the body is slimmer, and the tail 'wrist' thinner, thereby producing more action for less work.

I've been biting pieces off Sliders for ages - it's amazing the shapes you can create:D (taste good too:D )

I was chasing rack bream a couple of weeks ago and although they were shut down the most productive grub was a 1 inch slider in brown/red tail fished on a 1/32 and size 4 hook. Any thing bigger and they snubbed their little blue noses at it.

The one inch sliders look a lot more natural than a bitten down slider as they taper at the end. I have fished similar coloured 1inch and bitten sliders side by side and the 1inch win hands down.

Howdy Ravin, I have a few in that ugly Strawberry colour to, saving for them when I locate a school of thumper Whiting. Although they would no doubt be very effective when the Bream are in that "Clear, Cold Water I dont want to Play" mood.

Your right Dave the body is a little slimmer & the tail wrist as well. I have been using cut down 1.5's & they catch fish for sure but the action of the genuine 1 inch is better. I found out yesterday very briefly that Mangrove jacks eat them too.........all over in .06 of a nano second :(

i cant wait to use them when the come out over here no doubt bream master will get them in (hint hint wink wink nudge nudge im lookin in your direction there warren :D ) they look the goods for sure :)

The 1" Sliders are testing well and are expected to be released in Australia in Late January.

Yo Bream Jr, without knowing where you're fishing my favourite "starter" pack for plastics would be:

Charlie Brewers pumkinseed sliders 1 3/4"
CB muscadine sliders
Atomic motor oil gold fat grubs 2"
Atomic amber fat grubs

It will be interesting to see some other selections but
