It was a Team event but this year it is a individual event and it was not an invite so any body that can afford it can enter.

Gents and ladies,
Had the privilege of being an observer at the open yesterday.....I gotta say it was absolutely awesome I went with Graham Franklin in the big Gamakatsu Skeeter :eek: what a rush. The way these guys fish is unreal we had (after a few technical problems) 4 unreal size fish by 9:30am and the full bag by 10:30.Graham was an absolute Gentlemen and I gotta thank him and the ABT and Diawa for making this happen it was unreal. For someone like myself that has just started the tournament scene it was a sensational experience and I will be taking time off work next year if they have the same format the only difference will be I will do all 3 days( I'll take leave without pay if I have too). It was awesome. I watched the live stream weigh-in today and Congrats to Kris Hickson who came home with 2 great days and took out the open. A little birdy told me that Kris would be the most talented bream angler in aus at the moment.Hopefully one day I will get to fish with him as he seems like a nice bloke as well as a great bream fisho.
