I've just picked up the Shimano 2004 Catalogue (attached to one the the fishing mags I bought)
In it is a new series of rod called the Raider series that are designed by Ian Miller and seem to fill the niche between the say low/mid-range "Stella Spins" and the high-end "Loomis's, Bream Reapers" etc.
Two of these rods..the 2 Finesse Bream rods..look the goods for my own personal use. Ones a 7'6" 2 peice and the other a 7'2" 1 peice..both rated 2-4kg.
Does anyone know anything about these rods..how much, when they will be available, how they perform, that sort of thing...
any info would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone know when they'll be out?
Might hold out on my rod purchase 'till I see them.
I keep hearing "in a couple of weeks" from local tackle shops here in Adelaide. But the weeks never come.
Oh well, lucky I'm a patient man, I'll keep lure fishing with my miller baitcaster setup until I can find the right spinning rod.
I'll ring the tackle guys today, I'll let you know if they show up.
Cheers

Hi Bierdo,
I rang Bob at Shimano World today 7th Oct and he has told me they will have the first stock of these rods in Australia.
Delivery at this time is just listed as November.
All rods are one price $199.
I live in Lithgow NSW and have been quoted $7 frt shipped direct from Shimano and billed through Shimano World in Victoria. Very reasonable for delivery on a 7' 2" one piece rod.
Bob is going to ring me on the 3rd Nov with confirmation of the exact release date for the Raider Series rods.
The Raider Spin Finesse Bream 7'2" was designed to fill the gap in both quality and price between the Squidgy Spin and the more expensive Ian Miller Bream Busters.
Can't wait :D :D

Yeah Im looking forward to them coming out too...
Ive already got a black diamond its a bluestone so its of lighter build.. Im looking to get something a little stiffer for SP's so the Rack raider are the ones for me..
I want to have a bit of a look see at them when they come out and see if they fit what Im looking for... otherwise I will just save the extra pennies and buy a 6'6 bream reaper
But it would be good to get something a little cheaper (see $200 saving) so we can only wait..
If anyone can get some more info let me know..
Thanks
Blake
