Craig, not being funny, but is Matilda bay still the venue, or (seeing as the rains didn't come) have you thought of another launch/retrieve area. Probably a dumb question, but am asking it anyway.

Yes Matilda Bay for the start and finish.

Craig, What I was getting at is, at the Mandurah legs (as you know), entrants are given the choice of driving, and launching at different ramps, provided they are back at the official start/finish place within the timeframe. Now what I am asking is are the same rulkes likely to be put into place in the swan /canning. Bearing in mind that A. there has been limited rain, B. there are new speed restrictions in place, and C. the dredging is still making all but the upper reaches quite dirty at the moment. Merely a question is all cheers.

Bump, just curious in case you missed it, have spoke to a couple of people and they are also curious.

Mate

Didn't miss it, just been thinking about it !

The reason for being able to trailer boats at Mandurah related to safety issues. I don't think that applies on the Swan.

But - I haven't ruled out trialing the trailer scenario - I am aiming to do a run up the river on Wednesday and check it out.

Will post up an answer on Wednesday evening (or Thursday).

The idea of trailering sounds reasonable, but I cant imagine how you would go about getting parking at Matilda Bay to weigh the fish in.
If there were 15 or so boats all trying to get parking near the weighin station on a Sunday afternoon could be very difficult me thinks, goodluck with that one Craig:eek:

Yardi, every plan has its small drawbacks, but from memory the WAFM boat parks on the grass behind the stand, don't know what the ranger would say, was merely an idea, whilst chatting to a few people. So thought I'd put it forward, cheers.

Cant say i agree with the trailering issue for Perth round.

Seeing as the issue for Mandurah is safety and that is not an issue here then it should not apply.

Part and parcel of the comp is do i take the risk and head upstream (albeit at the new and improved slower speeds, thanks DPI!!!!!) and have reduced fishing time as a result, or, do i stay down stream and try to get my bag.

I did a pre fish way up stream (2 1/2hrs) a few years back and got a huge bag of fish. Headed up stream on comp day and the fish had moved. Didnt have time to go anywhere else so came back with 3 small fish. Just how things go. All part of the comp's and makes one's decision more important.

Mark - yep woke up to the Wednesday issue today - maybe Sunday depending on the weather.

At this point in time - no change (no trailering).

As said; in Mandurah it is a safety driven decision and those teams driving to launching ramps in the Murray etc are held back at the start to ensure they do not get a time advantage over those teams that travel by water.

I would have to try and implement something along the same lines (time equity) which would be problematic as would the parking issue at the weigh in.

Will still post my decision either Wednesday night or Thursday.

Is there any Bream Summer night series running again this year or any other breamp comps after the classics are finished?
