broken rod

While fishing for small trevally up north recently my old, faithful bream rod snapped right in half!
Anyway, I am looking for a replacement in the $100-$150 catagory. Any suggestions from anyone? Has to be about 6'6" and the ability to whip soft plastics a fair way. Will go up to $170 if neccesary.

Have a look at the Daiwa Heartland X IM6. Great rod in 6 or 6'6"!
About 130 i think.

For the price range you are talking about you cannot go past the Squidgy range of rods. They have two models that are unmatched in price and quality. The models are 7 foot squidgy spin and 7 foot squidgy bass. Both being awesome rods for there money. Check them out at your local tackle shop I think you will be quite impressed!

shimano is mostly marketing,
i'll probs get shot , they have good top range gear, but upwards of 300 bucks,
i would stick to daiwa, im6 6-6 4-8 pd

I agree with M.Morgan have a look at 7 foot squidgy spin for the price an top rod $120 or so bucks. I have one and I'm happy with it.

Ugly stick gold 6'6" is a very good rod for about $100 and the you can buy a good reel for the rod. it is very wipy and can throw a small squidgy about 50 meters.Another good rod is a shimano back bone for around the same price.:D
