G'day,
I'm over on the east coast and my bream gear is as follows:- Okuma GR30 reel, Silstar SPXL 601 powertip rod and 3kg mono.
Thing is, I attended a bream seminar at a local tackle shop recently and am now keen to get serious catching bream on lures. I've had limited success on SPs (due to trial and error) and am starting to use Hardbody lures with some success. I know it's a matter of persistence but if I upgrade my gear will I get better results. What should I upgrade first ? I like the sounds of the Shakespeare Synergy graphite rod (I think it sounds like $60) as other graphite rods start about $110. Should this be where I start.
P.S. Haven't caught a bream on a hardbody yet (one outing) but the lure was hit 3 times by bream, sure makes ya enthusiastic.
