So it's blatantly simple.
No idea what it's name is, but it's a bit of wooly bugger, a bit of booby.
but i got four smallish bream last tuesday in mosman bay fishing it the same way you would a soft plastic, and marabou tails have that 'wriggly' sort of look to them underwater..
And best of all you don't get people telling you that tying plastics into flies is a terribly unethical practice.
[:D]
now to tie it in more 'natural' soft plastic colours...

hey brody
tied it myself but was halfway through tying a wooly bugger for trout fishing when i remembered a picture of a booby flies.
I didn't have the foam eyes needed so tied in bead chain instead.
And then it looked awfully like a soft plastic in the water.
I'm sure this fly already exists somewhere, but I like it regardless.

Sounds like a bit of a double paradox....
An artificial imitating another artificial !
great looking fly though :)

Hey Alex,
Don't worry, I'm not here to hassle you about the football haha.
I had the same idea the other day while I was tieing, I came up with a few things, I was stifled by a lack of pumpkinseed marabou though :D I'm don't use a lot of natural materials so marabou was all I had handy, but there could be something even better that I don't know about.
All i need to do know is get off my arse and go fishing
Cheers
Duncan

love the prawn imitation fatman. Very likelike. :D
I don't personally agree with tying in rubber tails into flies, but that's just a personal preference. Apart from the whole "is it a fly, isn't it a fly" argument, I find them difficult to cast on the six weight.
but an imitation of a rubbertail? No worries...;)
