Walpole,where And How!!!!

Hi all,

am heading to walpole for a week of r & r next week and hoping to have a go at the local bream population.As the bream at this stage have a fairly big headstart(me being new to this game ) I was hoping for a little inside info...

will be fishin from boat with all unluck bream to be released..

I fished Walpole on Monday for not a touch(which hasn't happen since I started trowing lures), the water was as black as I've seen it for about 10/15 years and cold 11deg. If your in town on the 9th Sep you should come and voice your concerns about the proposed Marine Park, tell them you wont come to Walpole again to fish if the Marine Park goes ahead. It would be good if you could put a ball park figure on your expenditure for your week in the Pole(pre-trip & what you spend in town Accom feul food drinks etc). Watch the sand banks as 1 foot of water looks like 10 ft at the moment, and best of luck Roy as this might be the last time you fish Walpole for free or at all.

Hi Madfish,

I would think the town of walpole will receive between $1200-$1500 of my hard earned for the week we'll be staying.(accom,food,fuel,etc)..

I am not upto speed with this proposed marine park but will read up on the subject before the weekend.


As for not being able to fish walpole in the future,well i'd certainly be looking to staying somewhere i could fish,where i like when i like!!!

Although this certainly isn't the answer to such a problem,I usually only get time to fish when on annual holidays...

ps. sounds like those bloody fish heard i'm coming again...

I have some of the figs for the trip we took the breamers to if you'd like them. I can't imagine not being able to take the guys on trips like that.

16 breamers. Fuel, accomodation, food, drinks, spares etc. Adds up quick and the towns people always look after us.

It's a jewel we can't lose.

Where to go? Geez...even though you'll have all week, theres still not enough time to explore all the possibilities and water....so much of it! So much good looking country.

Try the flats close to the edges of the Nornalup inlet...if the water isn't too black you should be able to see heaps of hacked up cockle shells on the bottom...a good sign that bream have been cruising the area.

And of course the Frankland and Deep rivers are worth a chuck too. Just so much water, so little time.

One more question,is there a specific time of the day to be throwin lures for bream..I mean is 12 noon anywhere near as productive as sun up/sun down?????????....

11 deg Madfish? Far out! it's 22 deg in the shallower bays of the Swan! Geeez 11 is cold no wonder the bream weren't compin'!
