Hi All,
Seems like there's a few of us about now, and more each day...
How about we have a "meet'n'greet". Get to meet some fellow canoe/kayak fishermen, have a fish, compare notes, etc.
Make some suggestions for dates/locations and lets see what we can organise.
cheers,
Tony

Great idea however this weekend's stuffed.
How about Sunday 31st August ?
We could meet at Dohles Rocks at say 7.30am.
Then head off to fish in whatever direction we feel like and meet again at 10.00am for MT at the "beach" about a 2 km paddle from the boat ramp towards the bridge on the LHS of the river.
Any takers ?

Guys,
I can't make it this weekend , but have been in Brisvegas 3 weeks now and am REALLY keen to catch up for a fish with you guys soon.
I have a canoe w/ electric but no battery yet so i'll be a paddler for the time being.
Gf and I just took a drive out to the mouth of the Brissy River at the ramp out there .....looked beautiful !! anyone been for a fish out this way?
Still keen to nail a Jack or Flatty 65+cm's and of course some Qld Bream;)
good luck at Dohles i went for a throw during the week and came up zero with two bitten plastics due to toads:mad:
There was also this filthy reddy/brown cotton wool like weed ,covering everything which would foul on your lures everytime ,VERY frustrating!! is this just seasonal? or permanent in the Pine?
anyway happy fishing and keen to catch up soon
thanks

G'day Kris,
That's a nice lookin' canoe you've got there.
A mate of mine was down the Pine a few days ago and also had problems with the weed so I guess somewhere else would probably be better at the moment.
I haven't tried the mouth of the Brisbane River yet in my Kayak and haven't fished there for over 15 years way back in the days when we used to catch the "Winston Churchill Bream" around the Luggage Point area.

Dan,
yeh mate the weather was just too tragic in Melbourne!!;)
Was up in Noosa fishing last week with the old man and scored 20 flatties (biggest 65cm) and 9 small G.T's all on Atomic 3inch Shads in "Grey Ghost" in three sessions.
ps. PM me for a few spots when your up
Kris
here's the old boy with a G.T (loads of fun on ultra-light tackle)
and would you believe my first cast I scored two Big Eye Trevally.................one on each treble of my popper:D  :D
I guess there's a first time for everything
Hey Kris, did the old man tell you that he's going up to Borumba with me tomorrow. By the way saw the pic of him with the trev GEEEEZZZZZ he's ugly:D
Cheers Samurai
Hey Warren,
Yeh dad did mention that he was having a throw at Borumba tomorrow.......just got to keep it quite from mum now;) :D
I'm going for a quick spin in the morning at the mouth of the Brissy River.
Hope you guys get into 'em,
and remember......no photo=no fish
(only joking);)
enjoy
Kris
Sunday is out for me guys but doesn't mean there won't be another time. Have fun but reports say Pine is full of weed at the moment. I fished the South Pine today for didly squat but no weed.
Spoke with a friend who caught six flathead in four hours in an 800 metre stretch of Schultz's Canal (Nudgee Beach) on Saturday.
Good luck

So far it sounds like Bluey, Captn' Squinty, and me for Sunday morning. So where are we going? There were reports a couple of weeks back of flatties on the chew in Hays Inlet so we could put in at Clontarf. Don't know if it would have the same weed problems as the Pine...
GJC and Kris, start planning now for a session!
cheers, Tony

Hi Yaker,
I've never fished up Hays Inlet so I wouldn't mind giving it a try.
I recall that there used to be a wooden ramp at the end of Clontarf Terrace right beside the Hornibrook Highway. Do you know whether it is still there ?
Even if there is still weed in the area it'll be better than doing the jobs around home that I promised my better half.

Hi Bluey,
I haven't fished there either - it's been on the "to do" list. Don't know whether the ramp you mention is there. We can look and if not, then go round to the end of Thomas St. Not much further to paddle.

I plan to do the Hays Inlet thing around 7.30am from one of the launching sites mentioned above.
I'm now off to the boat/fishing show for the rest of the day to see what's new.
So, I'll see whoever turns up tomorrow.
