The Tasmanian is a suprise packet,,never knew any made the cut,,,

Wonder if he is useing Cranka lures ? Seem fairly popular in the state.

A lot of unknowns in the Top 10,,tommorow will be interesting,,

Our only W.A rep pulled out so number 1 spot is up for grabs now :D

No worries sometimes its hard to know who is who on forums with user names and real names,i see he is ranked 70 and Prushka was ranked 101 after Camden Haven,,the Quinella would have paid $650,000 :D

Interesting that the first three place getters are ABT regulars. Dan Brown has been fishing them for 7 years, Andrew Krushka fishes the Tassie rounds, and Jordy usually does well as a non-boater. Well done to Jordy for hanging on for third place after a tough day two.

The best I was hoping for was a top 20 finish, but didn't fare well on day two. Rodman - 30th. Feel like I let the team down. I've never fished oyster racks before, and wasn't really prepared for it.

The by-catch was interesting though. Day 1 it was pike, a long tom and a bonito, day 2 it was more pike, tailor and two leather jackets...all on HBs. Those long tom's are scary beasts. Bit the landing net handle twice before I got it under control, and tore up the SX40 bad. Teeth like crocodiles.

I'll throw in a few pics.

1. Lovin' the shirt
2. First ever legal yellow from the prefish
3. Bonito by-catch
4. Oooh, pretty
5. Now go away

Great pictures, did any of the winners actually fish Oyster racks ?

I know where Dan fished (well the name of the area)i am not sure if thats near Oyster racks ?

At the last Forster kayak ABT the winner never fished the Racks either i don't believe, personally i would stay away from them, all i hear is weeping wailing and knashing of teeth from folks getting busted off. :D

I know the top two fished racks/washboards on day 2, as did a lot of other anglers. Many stories of lost fish/lures.

Did well to get into the GF and the orange jersey is PRICELESS! I'd be stoked just to get into one of them jerseys.

Sure sounds like Forster....Leatherjackets, pike and long toms!
They are all annoying, with the jackets' and pike and tailor common thieves of plastics (very exspensive after a while) the long toms can be good fun though, they pull hard and jump all around the place, kinda like a baby marlin crossed with a croc.
well done on making the final

My informant tells me Victorias the place to be for the next two GF's

Marlo and Bemm River were this years standouts on the circuit, would love to see it being held there.:)

The costs of getting 50 PAs there might be factor...

Well i guess everyone in Australia will know who Dan is, he now jetsets in to the AFC fishing series and will be fishing with Tim Morgan ,Carl etc.

I hear he is a nice bloke and is willing to share his ideas, i look forward to seeing him on T.V :)

Anybody want a cheap Pro Angler ?, they only get used once for the GF then sold (all brand new)

Too big for the yak to get around (unless you have a 200 at the back ;))

Cheers,
