Just bought a second hand fly combo with the view to target bream in the Swan/Canning Rivers . Are any B/M members wanding in Perth?

Me and another BM member cranked the flyrods next to canning bridge and ended up with a flatty each, but yet to get a bream on fly, but havent really tried.

I'm currently in east freo (up from bunbury for a week+) and brought my flyrod up with me.
i'm keen to have a shot at bream on fly, so if ya wanna have a wave of the wand, just shoot me a pm and I'll join you on ya conquest.:D

Not impossible, I know a bloke who has caught them in the Yarra on fly. slow sinking green hairy flies and crab flies will get em supposedly.

I think not..Chris from Flyworld in Bayswater has been getting bream in the Swan on fly for many years has even developed a fly specifically for it !
10 yrs or more if I remember correctly.

But as for being insane, yes that maybe true :eek:

Can't help much with the Swan, but Bream on fly certainly aren't as hard as they're made out to be..

Bender

Half way to a full wit makes you a half wit

But I am sure you can make the grade as a twit - just don't get your "a"s mixed up with your "i"s cause that would make twit become tw_t.

Nice one mattseah!!

I know of someone who ties flies for bream, not to imitate anything it particular, bream just really go for it.

I caught my first bream on fly this morning in the Coomera. Small white sinking fly with a flash of orange on it. I think that it could become addictive, I didn't expect to catch anything as I was just trying to learn how to cast properly. Great fun.

Dave

No mate I haven't. I was wading the flats with a bag over my shoulder, so just released him straight away. (one of the benefits of living in Qld - the water is still relatively warm) I am definitely going to give it another go though, if I get anything I will post up some pics.

Dave

Absolutely true, Chris is a bream fly master, and he has a few mates who also seem to do pretty well in the swan and canning on fly.
