I don't want to put any pressure on Dowelly or Cranky but this comp will decide which of the lures are the better ones,,:p
I wonder what the team name will be ?

Given the time of year I'd be surprised if we weren't fishing plastics actually Shorty ,l know l prescribe to them round that time of year...the assumption that sponsored anglers can only use the sponsored product is a little bit naive actually...it would be like tying one hand behind your back and asking you to fish...all tournament anglers use a range of products to compile their bags they are just lucky to have the support from particular manufacturers that give them the opportunity to test and use product they believe in.
As for the Cranky title well l can handle that as the people that really know me know different.Assumptions made from a web site always amuse me anyways.:)
Cheers Steve

Not making any assumptions on a website just making a play on words, good luck at Albany :)
Hey Steve
Good point there, and to clarify it for everyone, we have made it clear to steve we dont want publicity from incorrect information.
If he has to use soft plastics or even a zipbait to win a comp then so be it,
And tell it as it is, dont want people saying they used our lure when they didn't
As everyone knows it all comes out in the wash,
That is the exact reason steve took it on because he did want to tell fibs and i told him he didnt have too. that is how we are,
Our lures speak for themself and we appreciate honesty from our anglers such as steve.
All our cranka team are expected to do the same, it is not how most sponsors work but that is our way the aussie way..
Regards
Dan

Sorry was too much of a conflict of interest for us with a ZipBaits sponsored angler fishing under the team name of the competiton so I'm sorry to say Callum & I have parted ways, wish him all the best with his angling endeavors in the future :)

Can't bend the rules for some and not others simple fact is that there's an obligation not to fish under the "team name" of the competiton most sponsors have very strict contracts in place regarding this, how often do you see lets say Berkley sponsored anglers fishing in teams named Squidgee etc?, if the team name is not related to our competition then there is no problem.
Thats what sponsorship is all about and most of the guys we sponsor are very aware of this.
We get no support from Japan in sponsoring the guys we do so all product they get is at cost to me and what is expected is maximum exposure under the ZipBaits banner, Callum was given the choice to find another boater as he was a valued team member he wasn't able to so a difficult decision was made.
Nothing to do with what anyone has said in this post or using the competitions products in comps or the other person on the team it simply comes down to the team name.
