DohDohDoh have them in their current catalogue, 2 for $25.00. Is that a good price? Are they a recomended lure?
Should I race out and buy some?
Which colours should I get?

Cheers

Seen them around for about $13 - $15 so I guess you would be saving a couple of bucks. As for colours, I would grab purple glim, aussie green gold and golden nog.

I have heard reports of the Ghosts cracking and breaking in half from hitting bridge pylons. I haven't used them yet, that was just a word from someone I know in a tackle store ;)

Some people have seen me cast before and know it is not always pretty. I have never cracked a ghost on a pylon. I spoke with a couple of places before they even came out and they seemed convinced they would break on impact. The guys at TT lure have assured me they spent a lot of time making these little things tougher than you would expect.

lazzylure,
i think that your post is a bit ignorant, I would not mind it as much if you were posting from personal experience. Believe half of what you hear and all of what you see. I have smacked these lures into bridge pylons, rocks, moored boats and am yet to crack one.

Just my opionion,

Bit over the top maybe. Lazylure was very clear in his post that it was not from experience but had "heard"

The grape vine is a great source of information. If I was researching something I would appreciate it if people had told me what they had heard even if they hadn't experienced it.

"I heard" is not a good enough reason to discredit a product in IMO. Anyway the less people that use them the better chance I will have in a comp!

You work for them or sponsored by them by any chance dabreama?

In no way was he discrediting the product. He didn't give his opinion rather that he had "heard" so that people look out for this.

No not sponsored by them, it would probably be in my sig. I don't work for them, it would probably be in my sig. I have however had a tackle shop owner who didn't stock Jackall Chubbies, tell me that they rubbish and not worth stocking!

Anyway i will leave it there!

Hi fellas,

How far can you realistically cast them as they seem very light and how well do they fly through the air.

cheers

A couple of meters less than the metal ones. not a huge difference. Certainly further than a normal HB

Ignorant ...I'm just passing on info from a tackle retailer

"I heard" is not a good enough reason to discredit a product in IMO. Who's discrediting a product??? AGAIN I'm passing on information "I Heard" from a tackle retailer..... and this retailer does sell all TT products. The fact is I went to purchase some but they had sold out when the bloke behind the counter told me that they are prone to cracking and breaking as the store had about 12 returned. Personally I don't give a rats @#$% if they do, I still intend to purchase a few.

I've bounced mine off a few bridge pylons and poles and haven't had any issues - the polycarb seems tough enough to stand up to normal fishing conditions.

Now if you did it all day then it might crack, that said if you did it with one of the metal ones I reckon it'd be hammered aswell.

I like the ghost blades, the vibration is more subtle than the metal ones and they have a slower sink rate aswell. Haven't paid much notice to distance - which for me means they cast OK - if they didn't I'd notice :)

The bloke behind the counter probably wanted you to buy more ecogear blades instead ;)

I think the important thing is that he was out of stock of them when he told you that they prong to cracking. A retailers job is to sell you something, and to believe that the retailer would accept 12 retuners that had been snapped in half by anglers who cast them into pylons, is again ignorant and naieve.

Ok John & Shayne I will chill out when people stop posting rubbish on these forums. Including your post champ!

Also apologies for having completed high school and for having a partner that allows me to have my own username on the breammaster forums. Next time i will use foul language, that should impress the young members of this forum.

Tried the Ghost Blades for the first time yesterday with a mate and really like them for this time of year. i yeah we didn't break any either after casting a couple into a bridge pylon to test their hardness and no breakages.

A couple of fish from the ghost blades.

I pretty sure the owners of the boats you've smacked these lures into would feel you were pretty ignorant.

Maybe you should express your opinion not call other people ignorant for trying to pass on what they thought was relavent info.

PS most good juicy rumours are started with "I heard a bloke tell his mate that his friend had heard XXXXXXXX on the grapevine", we shouldn't discourage that should we??;)

If i am not wrong I think that Dizzy Borg had some good success on these in a recent ABT event. Feel free to correct me.

Those things are made out of polycarbonate, the stuff they make safety glasses, bulletproof shields etc out of.. I think anyone who reckons they could crack one is dreaming!!

I haven't used them much, and I haven't cracked one.

I suspect they won't be as stong as the other items you mentioned as they have the holes drilled (I think there drilled, maybe cast) which will likely be where they will crack if at all.

At $25 for 2 I reckon i will get more fish out of them then out of a packet of plastics. So they represent pretty good value. Unless a big snag snaffles them.
