Hi all,

I'm heading up to the Monty's in the first week of October and to say I hanging out is an understatement! We're going with Blue Horizon and was hoping some of you guy's that have been could tell me what they are like.
Also is there is anything that you believe is a must have for the trip?

cheers lads and ladette's

It really depends on what the focus will. Being on a charter boat it is probably fair to assume that they won't be doing much shallow water fishing on the flats and such.
I am lucky enough to have a mate who used to run the charter boat up there with the house boat and dinghy's etc so have been a few times. The fishing is nothing short of incredible but it depends what the focus will be. I assume a lot of the time will be spent offshore bottom bouncing will it?

Cheers, Dror

Well its one hell of a place to have a mate, Dror! I am not totally sure of the exact set up but I do know that there will be a bit of trolling, bottom bashing and jigging...apparently we anchor each night in some shallow bays and they do have a dinghy so I'm hoping someone on the crew will be up for some placies and lure chucking over the shallower areas. One of the days we are mud crabbing and exploring the islands so I'll be taking a nitro and 2500 twinpower with an assortment of placcies and topwater:D.

Herds,
The Montes is a brilliant spot, the fishing is over the top, on my last trip we got all sorts of bottom fish, pelargics and even a Sail Fish. We got Mud Crabs as well, take a small casting rod with you when you go crabbing and cast a few lures around then hang on:D you will have a ball mate, the serenity is unreal;)
