Anyone had any success with bream on popper flies?
Maybe late afternoon on sultry summer days?

Hi Christoper,
Yeah i woulndt put it past the old bream to take a surface fly ive heard of it many times. Plus think about when snag fishing and the amount of bream that take the lure on the surface . Im sure if you used a small enough popper they would get stuck into it. Hope you get a few. Im hoping i havent forgoten everything (going out soon nedd to get some on the fly gear)As i havent used it for ages. Catch ya later and good luck.

You probably will find that it works quite well (it has for me) doesnt need to be a sultry afternoon either ! just think - little prawn skipping around oyster leases or maybe a baitfish - the right sort of popper on a flyrod and KAPOW pretty exciting stuff.

surface popers would have to be one of the best ways to catch a bream, watching it come up and smash your poper is just awsome.
