hey guys,

im gonna go in tomorrow and have a bash for some carp in the torrens.
i haven't done it before so i wouldnt really have much idea what im doing when it comes to carp.
i wont be able to take a landing net and i dont really wanna take a gaff on the bus, will a lip grip be useful at all for landing them?

im going to take bread and corn for bait/burley, ive seen a whole lot of other weird stuff mentioned but not sure whats

really just looking for any tips, anything i should remember/take with me or do's and dont's

cheers

take a rag to wipe the stink off your hands.

I have been driving over some of the western section of the torrens looks like it has been drying up .Which it does over summer
October a year or so ago .i had a hankering to catch some Carp on a bread fly.
I could get the damn fat buggers up to the surface .They were eating my bread and I couldn't get them to take the fly or put it in their mouths .
Ok enough thinking back .
Try and find a section that is very slow moving or not moving at all and deepish .Burley up with either your Bread or corn .then use either on your hook.
Couple of things to watch out for Ducks will eat your bread .water rats will come out and eat your bread .Watch out for snakes as well Browns hang around the torrens well almost every where in Adelaide.
Be patient the Carp will come .
Just find a deep hole and you'll be in like flynn
cheers
Mick
PS
When I was a boy the carp were that thick in the torrens they would try and eat your float .And some of them were very very large
