Sambo jiggy !!

Yes its that time of the year again!!

Last Sunday decided to take a mate out on a charter boat to jig for sambos. It was my 2nd trip for the season and his first in 4yrs.
Plenty of fish out there, ranging from 15kg to HUGE!!
Some pics....

Started with PE 8 and landed a few in the 20-25kg range.
Switched to lighter gear, on PE5...

At the moment all the charters are going to south of Rotto for the sambos as the Northern barges are loaded with sharks circling the schools. A little tip is to go with charters leaving from Freo, shorter trip and more fishing time!!

Wow... seems like you had some luck. I should start fishing for bigger fish now. the fish i catch normally ranges 3-6 Kilos :(
