how good is steve waugh??
cometh the hour...cometh the man
and boy did he turn up big time!!
Hell, that was possibly the greatest innings i've ever seen someone play in my life.:D
His determination is second to none, and he's the best australian batsmen captain since Bradman (in my opinion).
Great to see.
And who's there when waugh is finished.....
Gilly

it was definatly the best and most exciting innings i have ever watched. gilchrist didnt do so bad either.:D
Unfortunately the great man could not carry it over to the second innings:(
I have to say that the umpiring this summer has been rather disgusting. I mean it is bad normally, but this series has seen some mind bogglingly bad decisions:mad:

Yes it has been fairly ordinary at best, the Aussies should take it on the chin and kick the next teams ass. West Indies I think
I never thought I would ever utter these words, but I think the West Indies are worse than England. This one WILL be a clean sweep:D

Steve Waugh is a legend I reckon. About the umpiring I have to agree even though we flogged them 4/1. The pom who was given LBW on 180 odd was ripped off so was Langer & Hayden & Ponting was hit outside the line of off stump also. The important thing was it was the same umpire each time. Wonder how he will come up in the captains match reports :) The West Indies are bad these days even the poms can beat them. Its a pity after seeing some of the great matches involving the Windies in the past.
I would have given Ponting out, it was a matter of millimetres and the umpire does not have that lovely Blue Line. But thats no excuse for the other terrible decisions. I also dont think not being able to hear an edge as an excuse, more than one snick went begging. Once even the Umpire pointed at his ears!?
Good on the Poms for winning one, but the bad decisions must have left a bad taste in both teams mouths.
Cheers

You maybe right Matt :) But I'll never admit it :D I'm a really really one eyed aussie supporter:D :D & I'm still arguing a few decisions that Ian Chappel got :D :p :p
