hi down in busso,

best advice i got when i brought my yak was not to rush in and fit it out straight away, get some time on the water first, then work out what you want and where you want it on the yak. the first thing i added to mine was a sounder.

check out akff, a great yak site with tons of info to help you set up your yak.

cheers
mike.

Well done Down in Busso, kayak fishing is cracker fun :D

As Per previous advice i would check out AKFF or better still join up, we have a kayak fishing forum in W.A as well and a few comps ,last comp prize was a Finn kayak and costs nothing to enter.

In the mean time i would sit in it and decide which is the best place to put things like rod holders etc, they must be easy to reach,,good luck,,,

We use small batterys that fit in the palm of your hand looking at mine it says Remco RM12-7.2(12v7.2ah/20HR) i don't know what those figures mean, look for the smallest battery at your marine dealer,,normally around $30-$40.

Don't forget to check out Yakfishwest you can access the local forum from there.

The battery i use is made for alarm systems and would be about the size of 2 dolphin torch batteries it was onlt about 25 bucks but the charger is about $40 because they need a slow charge.
