Seeing the weather is cold wet and windy .I thought I'd post some pictures of some Bream caught on surface flies .Before I injured my knee at the end of Autumn. I was hooked on making a popper that would catch me some larger Bream that haunt the shallows of West Lakes.
This itty bitty baby fell to a white gurgler near a tiny seaweed bed at a tiny beach

This is the fish in my avatar when its not moving slightly bigger

Blurry picture of the tail of my fly in the mouth of a tiny Bream

Another tiny Bream that fell to a popper with a pink tail

Since then I lost a heap of Bream to flies with yellow tails (I had problems with my whip finish knots:eek:).
And while waiting for the sun to return I have made some smaller poppers. That hopefully will do the trick in some ankle deep water that some much larger fish haunt.Along with the ones out a bit deeper.
Cheers Mick
