Just wondering if anyone have ever trolled with the fireline and had a line twist.

I had about 40 min. of trolling yestarday with the "spoon" lure at the end of about 1.5 m mono leader with the swivel. When I pulled the lure out and looked at the reel spool-fireline twists were everywere! The line is not useable any more. Could not fix it.
Does anyone know how to overcome the problem and suggestions how to troll using a fireline?

Thanks,
Alex

I've trolled hard bodies with 3-15kg fireline without hassels - perhaps linking a few ball-bearing swivels to the twisty and using stiffer leader material could do the trick?

Those spoons are notorious

troll the line out the back with nothing on it and it will untwist. andrew

You can also buy a plastic 'keel' for trolling purposes, it's supposed to stop twist. I know a couple of guys who use them for trolling Spinners and swear by them.

Cheers,
