Polarized Glasses

G'day Guys,

I am going to buy a pair of polarized sunnies, have a budget of about $150 is it possible to get quality sunnies under this price, if so could you pass on a few names. It would be greatly appreciated, and sorely needed to pick up bream on flats.

Dude, if you have that much to spend you should be able to get a pretty decent pair of polaroids. If you come into the Bream Master store in Inglewood we have an excellent range of Spotters, they are more around the $200 mark but they are awesome polaroids that come with scratch resistant lenses and are also multi layered.

They come in plenty of styles and colours lenes to suit different fishing conditions.......come in and check em out.

I can vouch for the Spotters.. fine sunnies.. I have a pair of the Sliders style.

Photochromatic so I dont have to take them off when it gets a bit dim.

If my eyes were any more relaxed my eyelids would be closed..

Hi Soo,
I got a pair of Stalker Riders from Campbells the other day, that were on special. They were down from $230 to $125, with the scratch resistant glass lenses, and they are awesome. Dont know how many they had left but give them a ring.

I love my Spotters :D

'Crush' frames in light blue with Gold Penetrator Lenses.

It was a hard choice between these and the Photochromic lenses but I'd been turned off the Photochromic ones as I'd been told they lose the ability to change colour after 7 or 8 years, and the lense goes a light 'pinky' colour........ not that I ever have a pair of sunnies that long, they always end up in the drink :D

Have a long hard look at Spotters :D Worth stretching the budget a tiny bit to get a pair. They are the best sunnies I have ever had for fishing. I have Spotters Thunders & love them!

I had a pair of spotters that I dropped overboard:( :( :( then I had stalkers that were destroyed in an accident :(
Now I have Makos that have so far survived 3 years, so they may meet an untimely death soon if my track record is anything to go by:D

They're all exellent sunnies built with tough durable frames and optical quality multilayered lenses. The difference between them in performance is certainly smaller than the price differnce. I've used all three in the harshest possible sunlight - gamefishing offshore, watching skirted lures for hours at a time. They all minimised fatigue to pretty much the same degree.

If you're cashed up and don't mind paying for that little bit extra for a 'label' then get the spotters, but if the budget is a major factor then the makos won't dissapoint.

i bought a pair of mako storm's awhile ago,on sale at campbell's for $70 down from $249 ! dont know why such a big reduction in price but couldn't resist a bargain.work ok in bright sun but when overcast leave a bit to be desired.ok for price but you only get what you pay for.

but they are on the bottom of the collie now:( but no drama they only cost me 30 bucks from a dive shop in bunbury, they really worked too.

Yeh well hows this my sunnies are polarized, only cost me 35$ at David Jones and they Have the "FISH" insignia either side

SPOTTERS

I got a pair of the ones with the plastic lenses - they work a treat.

Apparently they scratch a bit easier than the glass but the are much lighter (comfortable). I've had mine for 9 months now and not a scratch.

I also use them for riding my Vespa around as the lenses are big and good for stopping the wind - you don't want glass lenses for this in case they shatter.

the cancer council stores have a good selection of polaroids for around 30 bucks.
I had a pair or "raylane" that are made by safety glasses company. Got them from Atkins carlyle in Freo for $100, they were awesome - comfortable, excellent polarising qualities, plus scratch proof coating, and looked pretty damn smart too !, I had them for abot 12 mths - till someone decided they needed them more than me when I stepped out of a change room for 2 minutes !!

for a prescription spotters the cost is $475!!
i have been told that is possible to wear spotters etc over ypur normal glasses if they are not large, and get the benefits of the polariods. Any advice?
