decided yesterday that an arthritis upsetting ride in 2-3m swell to the shelf of Tathra in an 18' Haines to get some sleep for a few hours might be a good idea...
sound like fun.....???
IT WASNT.....!!!
short stop over at tathra wharf got the bucket full of mackeral for lives and cubes, met up with Slick and Jordy and a 3rd male ballist in his ab mobile and decided it might be fun to try and keep up with him on the way out....
BOM BOOOM..left us for dead ! lol
anywho target was Albacore with the possibility of fin if they where around. last 2 weeks have seen a great run of the winged ones with fish reported from 5 to 27kg !!!
on site the weather came good, wind dropped to an intermittent fart and the swell just kept on rolling, got the cube trail flowing, and starting stripping back our baits, small mackeral and whole pilchards...then i made it to the sleepy, nanna nap time of the morning...just love kicking back and snorting a few Z'd out to sea...rocking in the cradle...
that lasted about 15 mins when the first enquiry came in the form of my Daiwa Sealine leverdrag 30 spewing line under the considerable speed, nothing like a screaming ratchet to wake you up !
short 5 min tug o war boated the first of 4 albacore caught for the morning, first and the biggest pulled the digits to a little over 7kg's
back in by 2pm with EVERY bone in our bodies dislocated and eyeballs deflated from the 'uncomfortable' ride home...
end result...lot'sa'tuna in the freezer and the conviction to NOT go any further than snapper ville till my brother brings his 23' berty back !
few brag shots..sorry bout the first ones of Dylan...hard to hold a camera still in 3m seas !!!!!!
