Fish ID?

flicking soft plastics off a rockwall in mandura yesterday and produced afew of these weird fish just want to know what it is also caught sand whiteing and herring in the same spot

he caught that particular sweep there was 4 of us fishing my sweep went back all i kept was some herring

sweep actually isnt that bad if you eat it fresh, but nothing like a whiting or slab of snapper

id love to try snapper but i think it will be quiet some time before i own a boat fishing rod/ and go out on a boat

my housemate that ate the sweep said it was pretty good, i think id prefer tailor or herring or even better flathead
