Hi,
i'm getting my 2nd spool of fireline as my first is chafed and not casting as well as it should. I am going to stick with 6 pound as i some times use it for herring skippy and whiting in our boat.
should i get flame green because of the visibility qualities or smoke.
Also does the flame scare the fish off at all
thanks:)
HI Brody
I don't think the colour matters much as long as U have a length of mono/flouro trace. Fish don't get put off bright lines that easily.
Unlee is 50lb pink braid straight to the lure. Then the fish is going to wonder why it has a leash on it. Hehehe

thanks
i was wondering because its very hard to see to see the smoke, which i think is a big disadvantage if a fish hits your lure on the drop. At least you can see the flame if a fish hits the lure.
I use both the smoke and yellow colour. There seemed to be no difference. But if U use lighter trace, say 4lb there's more hits than 8lb as the "leash" is less obvious.

I would definately get the Yellow Fireline. You can see the line twitch easier when the fish hit the lure on the drop!
Also, use as light a leader as you can. Fluorocarbon is a huge advantage. When the fish are shut down, you need to use light lines and the right lures to get the fish!

2 reasons I'll be staying with the yellow is for visability with plastics and that I find that the yellow actually fluffs up less than the smoke.
HTH.
that's coz the fluffs are less visible against a bright line, hence why the smoke fulffs up easier. :D

:( i'm actually changing to platapus super braid it tends to have not so much memory like the fireline.
should cast better also no throwing so many loops.
peter.
also i use 6lb out chasing herring and KGW.
hi-vis in the snags and smoke in the open waters.

I use both and don't see much difference, only that I use smoke in 4 lb and yellow in 6 lb (so I can tell them apart:D)
