carrying s.p's when fishing (how?)

can someone suggest a successful way of carrying bags and bags of s.p's whilst fishing a long day other than lugging a big back-pack around all day. (something that doesnt restrict your level of movement!)

Hiya...

I use what was termed when I was back in school a mail man bag. Just like a laptop bag but lighter, sling it over left shouler to give my casting arm freedom of movement. I find it very comfortable and light, and easy to get access to my gear without taking it off. Pretty much like the bags Geoff had in the shop the last time I was there.

I use one of the clip wrap around waist thingies from KMart $20 (Jarvis Walker - I think). Has a big pocket, 3-4 small pockets and a drink holder. I carry 15 hardbodies and 3 pkts of Gamas, Leader, Pliers, tape measure. 5 pkts jig heads, and about 7 pkts of softies. If I didn`t take any hardbodies then I reckon If be able to carry 20pkts of softies for sure. It even slips my Camera on. One of the best buys I have ever made.

i either use a surf fishing bag like u throw over ur shoulder or i use a rex hunt bum bag alot like richos.

i use my crumpler bag, works perfect, easy flap to open.

i learnt it from kris, and now pete s is also a crumpler convert.

I've got one of those Plano Guide bags...the smallest one in the series. It holds three small tackle boxes each with fourteen compartment that can hold load of SPs ...easily more than enough for an extended session.

It's got a good access from the top, a decent shoulder strap, a pocket at the front for you leaders, pliers scissors etc and its also got 2 velcro loops on the back that I use to hold a small collapsible landing net (it was originally designed to strap on to the handle-bars of a mountain bike.

I use a bag that goes over the shoulder. It's easy, light and comfotable. It holds three stowaway style tackle boxes in the main compartment and has more room for other things. Best thing was that it was $2.50 from a bartermart. I do like the look of those Stoinka bags I saw in the Bream Master shop though. Anyone know the price?

i like to use a fly vest for my fishing it has lots of pockets and big ones too. it also doesnt restrict your movement, and is comfy and light. they shouldnt cost too much the one i use is ten years old and still kickin':cool:

Best thing for carrying bags of SP's is a boat. :p

I use a non-gay looking bumbag (it's black so it's :cool: ) when landbased.

I used to use a bumbag to store softplastics but as my plastics collection has grown considerably it became pretty difficult to find the ones I wanted. My plastics go in a $4 cd wallet now. Just put your softplastics packets in instead of the cds. It's so much easier to find the plastic I'm looking for now.

Tackle Jacket / Fly Jacket for me 6 zip up pockets and numerous other buttoned pockets, plenty of room for pliers, clippers, catch scents. A couple of little tackle boxes and plenty of seal up plastic bags. Handy in the Kayak also, fits over the life jacket.
