Hi Guys
Just want to let you all know that a heap of well know fishing identities and fishing related companies are coming together to put on a huge fishing tournament in July to raise more money for those effected by the fires. The brain child of a great Alexandra local who was trying to get people on board while still defending his house against ember attack (truely amazing) this tournament will hopefully be in the same style as the Cod Classic.
I received the call to help organise the comp on Wednesday and jumped straight in. The comp will be at Lake Eildon and from what I have heard will be just a big weekend of boat, land based, bait, fly and lure fishing with celebs and prizes galore for competing anglers. Guys you can all help by clearing your diaries in July and get down to this tournament, bring your families and have a fun weekend fishing but more importantly inject much needed funds into local communities. I believe it will be a weekend in the school holidays but don't have exact date. Should know next week
This will hopefully be the biggest fishing event ever seen in this country. Hopefully it will dwarf the Huge Cod Classic in numbers of competing anglers and just further demonstrate how great the fishing community is in supporting people in need.
