Mate you may have your self an australian record there. Presently the record for gummy shark is 23.9 kilos

where did you get that the record is 23.9, maybe in 1964. i had a mate catch a 26kgs in my own boat.

Well my best westernport gummy is 22kg+ caught last year and my mates have caught bigger i no of one gummy that my local tackleworld weighed in it went around 25+

She took a cut salmon bait in the channel just out from Cowes pier. As for a record who knows what she really weighed as the scales only went to 25kgs. No flake from her ...after that pic was taken she was released.

Very nice ghost there, not bad for a first one! Gawaine and the boys are doint well on the subs, not suprising though with the hours of effort they've put in.

Yes, the old gumbo's aren't too bad on the plate at all, but yes congrats on the guys who do put 15kg+ females back nowadays. Plenty smallers ones around for a feed
