hi mark,
My name is rob, I am always happy to show people want to learn about sport fishing (lure fishing). i have fished melbourne and victorian waters for bream and perch for 15 years, so i should be able to enlighten you a bit.
i live in the south eastern suburbs so it may cause an issue.

:D Funs over I reckon, I think he's learnt to phrase his words. ;) I recall when I first started I read that grey bream bible and it wasn't easy to learn off a book. Eventually I had a couple of people taking me out to show me. Made things a hell lot easier especially learning knots etc. If you can't find anyone Mark, trying getting some DVDs. I found them helpful. Even today when looking at the AFC DVDs I still watch how to fish closely in the hope of learning a thing or two.
Good luck

Hi Mark,
Welcome to Bream Master mate.
I started out reading as much info in the posts on this site as I could and have also found a lot of videos on youtube that show how the lures work under water so you'll get some idea.
You can also find videos of AFC on the net and watch the pros at work.
Another good thing to do is get freindly with the local tackle shop as they will offer really good advice on each lure type.
As for fishing plylons etc, like me, you'll have to just go for it. And like me you'll land lures up on roads, in trees or on boats (as my 1st attempt at mordialloc proved) :D:D but that's all part of the steep learning curve.
There are a lots of helpful blokes on this site so I'm sure you'll get some tips and tricks off them.
Good luck mate.
Chris.
