GPS and navionics question?

Hey guys,

I have just got myself a GPS reciever and Navionics card for my sounder. Humminbird 931. I have set it all up but there is a blank squared screen with a boat on it, is this normal? Or does the map come up when your out on the water?

Not sure how it works with Hunninbird but with Lowrance you need to got to menu, GPS features/ map data and select the chart so that the machine will read it.

I'm starting to wonder if my sounder will display the charts. I have re read my manual and it just says it's GPS capable i automatically thought that would mean it would read and display the navionic charts? Anyone have any views?
