I am currently getting a new rod built up. It is a 7 footer built on a St Croix SC111 blank. I had a few throws with one another guy had & it felt really good. Has anyone here tried the St Croix rods?

Hey Ravin,
I have a St Croix baitcaster and it is one nice rod.It used to be 6ft 6inches,till a mate I let use it sat on it:mad: (full of piss). It's now about 6ft and after redoing a few runners is still a nice rod to use ,mostly for heavier lures and spinnerbaits since it lost the tip.
I think you will be pretty happy with your new rod.
You do realise you will have to get a new reel to match, some new line,a couple more lures ,etc, etc.
Good luck

Mick

My rod turned up at last & I'm really impressed with it. Throws 1/16oz jigs a mile & same with little hard bodies. Nice & light & feels excellent to fish with. Christened it first day with a Big Eye Trevally about 1.5 kilos & it felt really good to fight fish with. No bream on it yet but won't be long :D I'm a very happy Ravin Looney :D

Hi Ravin,

Who is your rod builder and did you buy the St. Croix blank in Australia?
Cheers,
Cindy

Ravin,

I do like the idea of a 7' rod.
I've read on othe forums that Ian Miller is going to make some longer jig rods.

The rod was built by Allen Glover from Shearwater Rods & he imported the blank as far as I know.
