If we had a free ticket to fish anywhere in Aus for XOS Bream Where would it be?
We have seen the SA boys put up quite a good collection of 50plus specimens. And I understand that Tassie can produce them as well however there is probably not as many Tassie Fishos in this forum. I have noticed the general trend of SA dominating on the mainland (this might be skewed by the no of forumites in each state). We in Vic have our fair share but havent seen too many 50+ specimens on display here.

Keep away from there, the waters got acid in it that eats your gear, there's really big snakes, there's a sniper with a 50cal. on the bridge, just breathing in the air there causes chemical castration.

DONT GO THERE.

If you really wanted XOS bream, why limit yourself to Australia?

Papua New Guinea has eastern yellowfin bream up to 6 kilos!!! The best thing is the by catch would be Papuan black bass.

My wrists and thumbs hurt just thinking about it.

I was only looking at Auz as ist a fair bit cheaper. As many from this forum can conduct an exchange program with guiding/boating etc.
The PNG Black & Spot Tail have been a long time in the things to do. Limited funds keep it in the dream and not reality category.
Emo & Greggo you jesters never learn. :D.

I think within Aus it would have to be Tassie purely for the shear number of big fish. SA does seem to have some of the biggest fish but from what I understand there is a fair bit of water between them.

I wouldnt travel to just socially fish for bream thats for sure. I reckon Tassie would be cool as there are people to catch up with over there, and those endless fields of cherry trees that you can pick for next to nothing. Plus the fish are all good sized. But i wouldnt go socially, I would work it into a comp as well.

Apart from that, I want to go back to the Zambezi in search of 15lb tigerfish, they would eat a 50cm bream any day of the week, maybe i can take some over for live bait

I'd drive down the road and then pull my hair out as all the bigguns reject me then leave. (and no I'm not talkin' about a night at the tav')
