hi all

can anyone give me some infomation about a motorguide electric motor. the model is a fwb 43.i know that means freshwater model with 43 pounds thrust but on the motor itself it says' four'. that is the part that throws me.
the price of the motor is too good to pass up so any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanx

As far as I can suss out from the Motorguide cattledog it's a fresh water (FW) 43 pound thrust (43) bow mount model (B) - god knows what the '4' means....

I can pretty much guarantee it doesn't have pulse width modulation (similar to the 'Maximiser' feature on Minn-Kota's) and therefore you wouldn't get as long a run out of a battery as one with the P.W.M.

Cheers,

hi dave

thanx for getting back to me on this subject. mate, yesterday i contacted mercury marine and spoke with the guy in charge of the motorguide electrics. apparently this is a 2002 model.a competition model, and yes it fresh water. i asked him about placing an anode on the shaft(as i have read about in here) and was told they havent had any dramas with that.the warranty is void because of the salt water use but with proper care and maintanance and the price i am getting it for i guess i can live with that.
anyway thanx for reply dave i greatly appreciate it .
