Why do you say this? Do you generally fish hardbodies in snags? Personally I fish just as evil country with soft plastics as I do with hardbodies. Only reason I would consider fishing 6lb over 4 with hards is because the lure is heavier and therefore you get more cast and don't need the ultra-fine line. I use 4lb for everything at present and it does the trick. Having said that, when I kit out a new combo, it'll be heavier duty and loaded with 6lb for use deep in the snags and around tight structure like pylons.

The reason why I asked was that Iwas thinking along the lines that the 4 lb would less likely spook the fish when it was less aggressive in going for a SP, whereas for a HB, fish I believe tend to strike the lure rather than nibble it so the heavier line would not be such a negative factor. My thoughts only i am hear to learn

Yeah I see what you're saying. IMO thougt, the 4lb is strong enough to use for everything, so there's no real need to step up to the 6lb just for a bit of extra security when using hardbodies. But you're right, fish generally tend to strike hardbodies more aggressively than soft plastics.
