Still love fishing my soft plastics I want to get into some of the hard body action. I want about five to start with but I have only decided on the 3 so far the selection is:
1) Oar-gee JG
2) Oar-gee BR
3) Halco Sneaky Gold
4) ???????
5) ???????

Any suggestions on what to begin with?

Thanx Grant

Hey Grant..

I haven't come even close to using all the bream type lures out there yet, but I've found the Sneaky Scorpion in the "Fire Fin" pattern probably the best so far in my experience..it's caught 80% of my bream in the rivers that I've fished.

Can't get enough of the little suckers..Halco sure hit a winner there.

Hey Grant, throw in a Sneaky firefin for sure. You could also consider an Attack gold tiger or the Oargee PF or C. Dont overload too much on gold but if you are only looking for 5.

Don't forget the Rebel Crawfish, Smiling Jack's Raw Prawn (the clear pinky orange one) and I'm going to say this next one very quietly:

Rapala CD5 in 'Perch' pattern ;)

They're hard to find though:D

i would suggest any colour attack minnow or any of the crawfiss from rebel i also like to use deception nippers and also the smilin jacks prawn as dave said they are all good lures.

Hey Guys
I also just got into hard bodies aswell and got my first fish on them the other day after about 1 hour. It was little but was still good fun. I used an orange and gold sneaky scorpion.
I've had a lot of hits with the poltergiest in the same colour but no hook ups. I might put smaller hooks on it.
The lures mentioned above sound good. Might get some!
Anyways, its good to see i'm not the only one just starting with the hard bodies.

im also a really big fan of the bloodnut sneaky scorpion or the EJ oar-gee, when fishing the murray river last week they acounted for the majority of the hits

what about an attack silver tiger or grey ghost,it will give you a different style hard body but still cover the mullet pattern.

:p
dont forget the yo-zuri snap shad that warren is getting in, you can order them in packs of 5 so you'll have 10 in your selection.
[more to lose to really big bream]:)

Hey Grant,
As a few of the guys have mentioned, the Attacks are a top bream lure. Not meaning to bragg but I won the Sportsfish Hawkesbury bream comp using the fire tiger Attack.
Also have taken a lot of nice bream on the Rebel Crawfish, medium size,brown/copper back with orange underside.
Looks like you may have to extend your list of five;) .

Haha with all these selections I might have to take out a personal loan ;)

Keen to get a yo-zuri snap shad but just want a small selection of assorted to start. Probly be all gone by the time I want to buy them. Mick I cant seem to find fire tiger colour in the attacks closest was Yellow Tiger / Red Scales which I do like. Wouldnt mind going with something other than oar-gee or sneaky.

Apart from the Lil' Rippers in JG and PF, I also like the Predatek MicroMin 40 mm in Pink/Mauve or Black. The Micromins are tiny, have a great rattle, cast well and slay bream (as well as flatties and the odd whiting). I'm amazed no one mentions them here. I've found Attacks to be highly overated in comparison to the above lures.

Cheers

You hit the nail on the head with the Min-Mins, I posted elsewhere that they are severely under-rated - I particularly like the 'Carp' pattern;)

Hi all
My mate brought one of the micro min and slade them on Sunday.
And on the ATTACKS i am one unhappy customer all they seem to do is break at the bib and they never swim properly.
But they do catch fish though:D
QUESTION for Warren have you got any bibs for the attacks for sale or do you know where i can get some??

Hey Grant,
Sorry about that, yellow tiger/red scales is the colour I meant.
The Attacks I used in the Hawkesbury comp were the older models, unfortunately they went to the oyster rack grave yard ,taken there by bream I coud'nt stop.I have replaced them with the newer model and have to agree with some of the guys that the newer bib setup needs some attention. One wayward cast around structure and my new lure came back bibless.I really do like these lures and hope that the maker addresses the problem.
