Hey guys. Was wondering what aerator i should use. My livewell setup will be a 60 l icebox. Was looking at the ones on ebay that suction in the bottom and run of the battery. I want it all to remain portable.. Thanks

i'm presuming thats one of those cheap kits around the $40 mark they work ok in fresh water alot longer than salt but u can always replace the pump down the track with a better quality model u will have make some sort of brkt
for it &/or screw(s/s) it to bottom of the esky with some marine silastic around the threads on the screws. also s/s screw the end cap on the areator pipe as well.

Yeah the one i was looking at is called a "trac". Was looking at making my own spray bar on it if i needed too. I would rather not have too screw it down if didnt need to as would like to keep it portable.. And use my ESKY for camping..

I just got an aeretor by TechTackle I think is the name. $30. Just tie a sinker to the end of the tube so that it releases air at the bottom. D or DD batteries I think. Battery life was about 8-10hrs.
Hope this helps.

I use the johnson (I think) aerator kit. A cartridge bilge pump (so its easily replaceable should it stop working) and spray bar plus hose in a kit for about $40 from DohDohDoh.
I used a suction cap from a set of six hooks from GoLo and pulled out the hook and it then slid into the slide on screw fitting on the back of the pump.

Doesnt quite sit flat to the floor of my livewell at the moment so won't empty out the last couple of mm of water. I am looking at silasticing it down to get a better empty also putting a false floor in most of the livewell (except the corner where the pump sits) to create a sump.
