I have been shopping around and looking at different types of jig heads but has any one used the gamakatsus in the cobra style. why are they shaped like that and does it have affect on the plastic?

G'day tadpole

i only use the Gamu Cobra style jig heads, my hook ups have definately improved since i started using them. im not sure why they are shaped like that, i think its becasue the point of the hook is lined up with the eye of the hook and that tends to get you better solid hook ups. the softie doesnt slip off the hook if thats what u meen by "does it have ne affect on the softie" it stays on quite well considering there s nothing realy to hold it on, but they are a very good jig head...you should by some just to try em out.

cheers matt

The Cobra is a great jig head I use them a lot particularly when I am fishing flats. The head is shaped like that to give it action. Where the round jig heads have none. When plastics are new I have no dramas with them slipping but after a fish or 2 they may need a speck of super glue to hold the tight or just stick a new plastic on.
