Is 2 gram squidgy round jig head size 4 a good size for Squidgies Wriggler #2 65mm (considering still water)? I just decided to have a go at soft plastics this morning and bought a few packets of Squidgies. Just wanna know other's opinion for the jig heads size?'
Cheers

That should be spot on :)

Think about going a bit lighter as well, say 1/32 Oz on the slack tides ;)

hey Dave

you're the man, handy with a Squidgy as well. As you know Mim and JP are rather partial to Squidgies and we seem to fish lighter than mostly using 1/32 or lighter. I make my own jigheads and don't know what the weight on them is with a 00 or 0 splitshot.

I think a size 1 or 2 splitshot is about 1/16 and thats as heavy as we get with a number 2 or 3 wriggler.

I think the size 4 hook is more suited for shorter grubs (particularly bassmaster). I would go for the 2 gram size 2 squidgie jighead.

Does anyone know of a site that has pictures on how to rig a squidgie on a jig head? And do I set the tail up to go with the hook or tail down (for the wrigglers)?
Cheers again...

The best way to find out how to rig a Squidgy wriggler or fish is to get a copy of Squidgy's secrets. It is a video and pretty cheap to buy. It is a bit of an advertorial, but they do tell you how to fish them and rig them

as a note to Squidgies, there is only one way to rig wrigglers and that is with the dorsal fin pointing up
