trebles

hi guys

im relatively new to breaming and was just wondering what your thoughts were on the trebles that come with the various harbodied lures straight off the shelf??? so far i have been replacing the end treble of the sneaky scorps with a gama treble and taking the middle off (they look to be quite weak), but ive recently acqired a couple of oar-gees and their trebles appear to be a little more solid and sharper straight from the box. - do i need to replace these aswell??

what are your thoughts on taking off the middle treble??

are there any other good chemically sharpended treble brands other than gamas that you can use??

In my view if you don't get hooked taking a lure out of your tackle box your hooks aren't sharp enough.
I use Gama's and Owner's and replace them after two good sessions. The hooks on most lures will catch fish but are no where near the quality of the previous mentioned types.
I fish with both hooks on and I crimp the barbs straight away which i believe helps to penetrate the fishes mouth.
It's totally up to you but two packets of trebles cost me $12.00, gave me 8-10 lures worth and over 15 fish per session average lately.:cool:

I'm with Geoff there, change em over, although I'm admittedly quite slack doing this myself.

In terms of taking the middle one off, I'd leave it on. Its probably nitpicking but I wonder whether removing it would upset the balance of the lure?
