Actually the one with the leader on caught me this fish the other day, I didn`t have it on for long as I went back to the shimmer gold R2S (force of habit). But it looks pretty nice in the water.

Im becoming a big fan of these lures, pretty much all Ive been using for a while now.

60mm (6cm) and I think they dive to 2.5m but but we have cranked them down to 4m+ before. A real good lure, with heaps of colours and $12.95 I think.

thank u richo

they look real similar to a lure i have from ages back... made by smilin jacks or was it producer? cept the hooks and finish were not of this standard. but these lures accounted for heaps of bass, including my pb. great thing about these lures were the price .

to date ive just recently caught 1 bream on hb, i was pretty happy (diawa silver creek minnow). keen to fish hb's more often. whats the approach for work around pylons? as the area i mostly fish is not pristine... docks etc... before i get told off by security!!!:D

Tricky one Cap`n,

I pretty much never fish structure like that, not that we don`t have it though - and I did watch my boater pull a ripper out of our causeway in the Perth Comp, he used a Halco Combat - cranked it down to the bottom the worked it along the bottom next to the pylon, he then got smashed and the thing jumped probably 3ft in the air it was awesome and went 1.3kg. Thats about the only way Id fish them, but I know guys have also had success on sml lures that only go to about 1.5m so Id try that also along the edges.

Besides everything Ive said above - soft plastics are supposed to be the ducks nuts and the best way to fish around that type of structure, and pretty much everyone will agree with that, the Breamin 1 n 2 vids show this type of fishing real well if you can get a look or buy those they hold a plethra of information.

cheers again richo.

yeah ive pulled heaps of bream with sp's from the timber and concrete. i might give some of my bass lures a go next time. the lures i bought specifically for bream are mostly shoreline snag minnows, so they lack the depth. the cool thing is the fish i did get with hb was from a snag i had been eye'n off for quite some time, just waiting for the right tide to cover it enough... then it was bang.!

Don`t you love it when you line up some structure wait for the right conditions, you hit it and out comes mr breamie...... thats what its all about if ya ask me.

cheers

Oh yeah and the Halco Combat was green, someone said to me green is a real productive colour for him because of the water colour around bridges.

must say i was gloating for some time. my mate was stuffed, and trying to take a nap in the front of my canoe, and i just had to take my first bream on hb, already had a couple on plasstics near man made structure that day. the tide was up, and so i made the bugger wait... hehe

so i figure when the pic is developed it will be my icon for this site.

i was pretty happy that day, put a mate onto some solid fish, and broke my hb cherry. awesome.

put in the hard yards though, especially when i go in the canoe alone. if u see me and than look at my canoe on my nissan micra, u know im just a bit nuts. but most days ill catch, and learn something new...:p
