I've caught the most Bream on the 'Crawfish' style hard body, but in the early days it was one of the only lures you could buy that had the right size/action:D

My favourite now would have to be the OarGee, but one you don't hear much about is the Downunder Min-Min - severely under-rated in my book;)

I reckon most small hard bodies will score if tuned properly & fished with a stop start action. My favorite is unfortunately no longer available & that was the Rapala jointed minnow in 50mm length & black & silver colour.

Just a thought I have & I would be interested in others opinions on this but I think a lot of newcomers to bream spinning seem to jump on the plastics very quickly after having little success on hard bodies. I reckon they don't tune / fish HB's properly & plastics are a bit more forgiving & easier to get hits on. Thats my 2 bobs worth anyway.

Many years ago I started using an Abu hi lo to catch Flathead. As the name suggests you could adjust the metal bib to run deep or surface pop.It caught the odd Bream, then one day a Mate spotted the Rebel Crawfish In the clear/orange colour, It looked like the Yabbies we were using so we bought some. The Bream loved them!!!!! Have been using them almost exclusively ever since.Bounced slowly over a Yabby bed, Magic!!!!!

Ther seems to be one glaring omission from the lures for bream so far in this thread. The famed Bennet McGrath business slit several years ago and while Dan McGrath went on to produce the attack series, Mr Bennett went on to produce the Merlin series.
In my opinion the Baby Merlin series of lures rates up there slightly above the Attack line of lures mainly because of the wide variety and detail of the colours and finishes. The Baby Merlins are outstanding lures and have caught a large range of thumper sized fish for me. (the fishskin colour is totally amazing)

Ravin,

I know you posted your 2 bobs worth awhile back but I only just read that forum.

How do you tune up a hard body?

Cheers Mate.

i like the Scorpion 35's and deep diving 52 in gold and orange and gold, and in green.
Stumpjumpers with DD bib in the gold and black(awesome for bream and mulloway)
Tilsans minnows in gold and black and also the herring colour.Same goes for Tilsan Bass, also the green colours are productive on bream.
