Hi,

I have a couple of paddletails (swapped for a couple of grubs). How do you fish them - their action sux! Even redfin ignore them!!:(

fish them slow on a light jig head (say , 1/16 or 1/32) with a fair few hops in it so goes like this /\/\/\/\/\ the tail will swim on the lifts and drops better than a slow straight retrieve. The hits will most likely come on the drop.Good luck:D

Ta Geoff,

I still get a better result with shads. BTW our redfin love the tomato core grubs - caught 15 in a couple of hours on Friday.

hi gran pop
I have the atomic paddle tail in blue pearl pepper and i have alot of luck with them , i use a retrive then twitch but not such a rough twitch its more like a pull and even the redfin go mad for mine, so its probably just the retrieve or sumting, so hope that helped,

Gran pop,
are you talking about the atomic paddle tails? I find the tails on them a lot stiffer than say a slider paddle tail. You need to move them alot faster to get the tail to wiggle.

Looked at the Atomics - not those. I may have mis-named them, they look like a flat horizontal beaver tail at the rear end.

Might be something like a Eco gear pad tue then.

I've never used them myself but other guys have definitely caught good bream on them. I don't think the tail is supposed to waggle on those. I think the whole lure is supposed to zig zag on the drop. You will probably need to change the way you work the lure.

I think a bit of clarification is needed here :)

Tails such as the Sliders are actually T-Tails, same goes for the Atomics as well.

True Paddle Tails are things like the Pad-Tues, some of the Yum plastics etc.

From memory I think it says Paddletail on the packet of the Atomics, but they should say T-Tail.

It tends to get a bit confusing.......

For those guys that have had success with the true paddle tails, what sort of a retrieve do you use? It might help Granpop get some fish on his new plastics (and convince me to add another plastic to add to the shopping list :) )
