G'day all
I have recently started fishing in a new spot and the water is crystal clear and you can see 1000's of little bream and large numbers of bigger bream though I cant tempt the bream on my current range of lures (HB's and SP's) various colours etc.
Can anybody reccomend a lure type/colour that you have had success with in very clear water.
Honestly, there is fish everywhere (bream only) but the lures scare them away more so than tempting them with a snack. I cast away from the fish and drag it right near them using diff retrieval methods but little luck. I have had some success with Yo-zuri snap shads while trolling very slowly in canoe but thats it.
Thanks in advance

Hi Matt,
Most of my success lately in clear water is with bright lures like the orange Snap Shad using the aggrivated twitch with a good pause. The Shads suspend well with the hooks I have on it.
On the Murray you could see the bream come up and tail whip it b4 nailing it. Wicked fun.

The Gold Sneaky got plenty of action from the nibblers in the Murray last time there.... Immediatly as well, was reasonably clear back then. The OarG Gold had nailed 12 before loosing it though, then on went the sneaky and up went the interest of the pickers.....

G'day Grant
Esperance is treating me very well, friendly people and awesome weather (so far) . Have found some excellent bream fishing places within 100km of town that make the capel and collie look like deserted waterways. Still have plenty more places to explore.
Unfortunately I have lost the use of a scanner so I cant post any pics, thoughthe way digi camera prices are going I'm seriously thinking of getting one.
If your ever down this way ( or anyone else), let us know and I'll be more than happy to show ya around to some of the spots. One spot ive fished is awesome. All ya goto do is dangle the SP at your feet and a legal size bream will latch on. I think you could use a cigi butt to catch'em. Another spot, the water is that clear its unbelievable, it has a huge population of fish which you can see at any accessible point. Big Kev excited. Had a canoe trip yesterday, heading out again tomorrow and probably on Sunday-why not. Obsessed much?Yep
Hope the western waterways are treating you well

Shhhhhhh!!!!!!!
Yeh, tried there a couple of times, done reasonably well, I'm sure a boat there would be exceptional. Its a pity they still net it commercially:mad:
