I need help on my voting and some clarification, Is it fish of the Month or Photo of the month we are voting on???, Id vote differently on both you see.??:confused: Maybe i`ll just pick the other one.

It's fish of the month Richo, the photographic enhancements are only there to entice you. It may help sway votes if two fish are very close.

Pick the fish you like best.

Hey Warren, are these photos going to be displayed on the site somewhere after the comp? Is there a photo of the month on the site somewhere as well or is that the same as fish of the month (Richo has me confused).

Sorry Jimi, I just wasnt sure on what I was to base my vote, whether it was what I thought was the best fish caught this month or what I thought was the best Picture of a fish, Warren has clarified it. Im tossing a coin as one of the Pics is great and one of the fish is super..... :)

Ira has a good fish, but the pictures all blury...i cant vote for a blury picture.

Yeah I agree. I posted 3 pics of that bream, that pic is actually the worst one, that bream was 49cm.

There needs to be a clear idea of is it the best pic or the best fish? Cause I'd rather have the other pic up there, not that one.

How many pics of the same fish should you be able to enter??? I agree Ira, you would probably choose your pics differently, if you knew what the decision is to be based on. Should we have a Fish of the Month and then Pic of the Month as a seperate comp.

I want to see a picture of good looking healthy fit fish, we can all appreciate the size of the fish but a picture of a freshly caught Bream with a lure stuck in it's mouth get's me goin' :o .
If anything I believe that a comp like this will make us all better photographers in the end.

Size of a fish is one thing but how it looks in a photo is critical, I believe it's fins should be up and your fingers should be right out of the way. The subject should be in the sun and if possible try to catch the beautiful gold shine.

Unfortunately, some pic's don't do the fish any justice, when I vote I vote for the best looking photo. Shame really, my fish was way smaller than Davo's but it won I believe because of the great Photo Bear took.

Exactly, so everyone is voting on the best pic not the best fish. So it should be called photo of the month not fish of the month.

Cause they are two vastly different things.

It is Fish of the month for the reason that the competition is not based on photographic qualities but rather the fish. We'll limit the competition to one picture this month, and the one you submit is the one that's entered.

Ira's pic was the one I deemed showed the qualities of the awesome fish it is. The other pic doesn't show the full fish.

That is why I clarified that the fish is the deciding factor not the photographic enhancements.

Maybe we'll also put a restriction on no editing other than cropping...

We should get someone to design a 3 dimensional scanner so we can reproduce the fish holographically and even include a few seconds of motion into it :p

then after sorting out the fotm comp we can use that hologram as a ghost fish and stick it in the water...the bream will be curious and will follow it so then u dont need to go out and find the bream anymore u could attract it with the hologram

and then u can wake up and realise it was just a dream....and your gonna die next week cause u havent been studying :eek:

Why not send in a montage of the bream...3 or 4 pics of diff angles of the bream as 1 big picture? That way it can show fish quality and cool photo skills?

Hey I'm stoked! Big thank's going to all the people who voted for me and Warren for the prize. Was certainly a thrill to catch that fish on the light line and a lure I'd made up myself, didn't expect to take out the FOM though.
