Just wondering what is the diff???
Which cost more??? which is better???
I am not to sure what line class to get, atm i am loading it with 10lb Fireline Crystal on my KIX 4000, mainly use it for light Surf chasing Salmon.
Cheers :)

mate i would not really recommend either of the vanishes for salmon leader, i would be looking at a 15lb tough flouro like Siglon or Linesystems super egging. i use vanish for all my breaming bar bridge fishing which i do with 8lb linesystems, but the abrasion resistance is just not there. my philosophy is that if a fish is strong enough to get back into his snag with me rippin his head off on the other end, there aint to much the leader is gonna do for you in the way off snapping off.
for salmon, i personnaly use 25lb mono, as it is cheap and salmon dont really give a f$#k, they will eat anything in the right mood. if it was calmer waters though i would probably drop down to 15lb mono, i just dont see the point in forking out for expensive flouro on a fish that doesent really bother about "finnese". the heavy mono will stand up to anything though, i use Platypus Platinum.

Ed Zachery what Grayson said. Go a 20lb mono - cheap and gets the job done. Salmon will attack anything without hesitating, its not exactly finesse fishing. I like platypus pink personally, but it really doesn't matter......

what they said but i dont think you need to go as heavy as 20lb for salmon in vic...not too many monster salmon getting around our state that you are not going to be able to handle on 10lb.
alot of people use 20lb but on the 1-2kg fish that are common in vic i think its major overkill.
10-15lb mono or flouro should be plenty

The line for original Vanish(blue packaging) is clear, and Vanish Transition(gold packaging) is gold/yellow, but is supposed to go clear when it is underwater. The gold whilst OUT of the water is supposed to help the angler see the line(if i remember correctly)
Transition usually costs more, at least it did when I got mine, which is a long long time ago when I used to use it.
As for which one is better.....difficult to say , why not just try it? Its one of the cheaper lines("fluoro") in the market:)

After seeing this test on Tackle tour I wouldnt be too keen to try Transition....I know this test is done in a pool rather than the environment it is meant to be used in, but it's something to think about.
