Does anyone else use a permanent marker to re-colour faded fireline? Seems to work OK, although you need to reapply every couple of sessions.

I'm also wondering if it affects the line strength. I've been noticing my knots failing more often when I'm testing them. Don't think it should do, use of a permanent marker is mentioned on the Berkley site some where. I'm probably testing my knots a little harder after experiencing a couple bustoffs with fish.

I wouldn't bother, i fish my line until I lose too much or it becomes brittle. Colour is not a problem for me and I couldn't think of anything worse than trying to colour in line, I wonder if the chemicals are reacting with your line and weakening it?
Just replace it, I love the feel of nice, crisp, new fireline OOOOOHHHH BABY Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:o

When you colour your fireline do you loose marks for going outside the lines???:D :p
