Rylan and i went down to havey to fish for a few day during last week. tuesday, wednesday, thursday, and friday morning. we fished in the river and in the dam, the level in the dam is very low, but it didnt stop us from slaying the reddies, here are a few pics

this was the biggest redfin caught over the time we were there, unsure of size but estimated at well over 1.5kg

this was at the far end of the dam, it would have been a big tree and would have been about 10-15m underwater previously

almost all of our redfin were caught off these logs, we paddled our kayaks out there then vertically jigged from them, these logs were in the area just across from the boat ramp and had about 8 meters of water around them

hey scott,
me and my mate jayden went up there friday arvo and fished on the saturday we started fishing at 6.00am and finished at around 2 and only managed 3 reddies we were pretty dissapointed, what lures were you using? were were using mostly hardies and managed one on softies. it was a bad trip all round for us as my car broke down at 6.00pm friday when we arrived at the dam so had to call the rac out which took ages. then neally blew my self up at the camp fire, with an exploding lighter, next time might we might have better luck, good to see u guys did well, i was supprised to see how low the dam was.

well done on your catch
cheers kurt

Nice haul there Scott, did you check out any of the tree stumps up the back of the dam to see if there were any of our lures still attached?

I still have your pliers that you left on Scotty Angel's boat last year, send me a PM with your address if you want them back.

Mark

yeh thanks mate

we got most jigging plastics, mainly 2'atomic grubs (kind of like a pumkinseed colour) with large 1/8th jig heads, we gott a few on a sx40f and a minmin. The reddies on the hbs were on the troll though. The fish stayed in the logs area, we would catch 10 then the school would move along, and so would we. We basically followed them around
sure next time you go down you will slay them;)

thanks mark, that would be great:D ;)

Might be a good idea to head down there and map out some structure points with my GPS so when the water returns (hopefully) the new trout season will be productive.

Thats as low as I have seen it though :( fingers crossed for a good wet winter.....
