hey guys

just wondering if the yamatoyo rock fish leader is any good. I have used siglon for years and find it awsome but I just want to try something new.

thanks

Hey mate, yes the rockfish fluoro is very good, very abrasion resistant. It does have a thicker diameter than other lines, but it is very strong, and id reccomend it.

Cheers,

Mehh i'm having a few issues with 3&4lb

So i haven't had the best experience with it, but the other boys swear by it...

Ruski,I havent used those line classes, ive only used 6 and 8.It is quite coily so it could lead to problems in the lower poundages maybe.

Cheers,
Nathan

Me likes Super Hirasu Fighter in 6lb. Nice stuff. Line Systems is better, though. :)

I have to agree, Yamatoyo is good, but Linesystems is much more limp and thinner. I wont be going back to Yamatoyo now, Linesystems for me!

love my yamatoyo, i mainly use the "spinning flouro" but have the rockfish and egging in the higher line classes ie 6lb and above.
paul what sort of problems are your having with the rockfish? ive got 3lb spinning flouro run straight through on one of my reels and have no problem apart from the obvious bust offs from using 3lb line.
the rockfish is awesome for when you need that bit more strength and abrasion resistance, i have heaps of confidence in all yamatoyo FC's

Pretty much what you said there Luke... bust offs on 3lb, but maybe i'm expecting too much.

I used 4lb rockfish on saturday at the patto, and got 2 bust offs in the space of 6 casts...

I think ill just stick with egging, hasn't let me down before. And i've finally found it in 4lb :)

yeah the 3lb isnt super strong, my guess is it breaks at 3lb and no higher. when i fish the light stuff i have my drag pretty loose and anything over 32cm peels a heap of line lol, click the drag one or two more clicks and the fish busts you off on their first run.
pretty much only an open water technique for me but its very fun.

Awesome stuff the Yama Rock Fish never had a problem with it myself. Even pulled a 40cm bream out of a barnacle encrusted yacht club jetty on the 6lb stuff once, the breamski tried to break me off on everything in sight and the line was absolutely shredded but it held together long enough for me to land the fish.........Been using it religously since then, although I did buy some Duel H.D. Carbon the other day which I plan to give a try when I'm out next.
