Dry Fly Fishing in the Gippsland Region is quite rewarding, as you usually catch 10 or so each in just a few hours, however these fish average around 200 - 300 grams which arent all that huge.
When i was told of a Creek that holds fish that average 1kg with some to 2kg and even 3kg i was very intreged, and have fished it every chance i get, its also only a further 5 or 10 mins from my previous fishing spot,
At 9.20pm Saturday night i noticed a last rise, it was fairly dark but i manged to land my Royal Wolff 10cm away the fish turned and scoffed in my fly, a few mins later i had this trout lying in the bottom of my net,

this fish weighed in at 860grams just a tad under 2 pounds, this is my biggest wild trout, and what makes it all better is that it was caught on fly, and the fly was a really dodgey tied royal wolff

with a length of 44cm - 45cm it totally blew my previous pb out of the water. previous pb was 35cm
also this is a secret location, so if any one can pick the area please just keep it to yourself

i have to agree with lure muncher there is a fair bit, considering ther place that fish was caught has 10-20 "respect the idea of catch n' release" signs.

stuff you tilipia stalker, i know as a fact that you are going to this spot tonight, and if you catch one you will definetly kill it, so dont be a hypercrit or however its spelt, im not the one that wanted to keep a 29.5cm brown the other day.

settle petals, no need to get all nasty take it off line if you want to rip each other to pieces. Remember what I told ya gippy bream when I pm'd you, looks like now it is coming back to haunt you...Plus you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out Tilapia shows no respect for his fish, all his PB's are cleaned and gutted, that says a lot about a bloke..

whoa guys slow down.... lets not start mud slinging.:(
gippsland bream- i never said i would do any different to what you did...i was just commenting on how all of us seem to kill alot of fish (at least on this thread)
shipcat-you make a good point but i'll have you know i have released my fair share of good fish as i said before i keep fish to eat, most of my P.B's were kept for my grandparents dinner.
let's try end it at that...
