Gday All,
Nailed this fella a couple of months ago on my 5wt loomis at a place called Albury Estates over here in England.
He took an olive green goldhead nymph and really put up a good fight. He went somewhere between 8 and 9lb.
I also managed 2 other fish around 3-4lb that day so a reasonable day in all.

Ill be there next year and need to fill the fishing void. :(

Cheers for the Kudos fellas !
Morgan Spurlock eh....haha no cant say Ive had that comparison before....Have had some italian bird say I look like Max Biaggi but never Morgan Spurlock haha :P
Acanthopagrus,
I got that fella from on of Albury Estates fisheries called Vale End
http://www.alburyestate.com/vale.aspx
Which is just over an hour or so out of London.
They do also have a fishery called Syon Park
http://www.alburyestate.com/syon.aspx
Which is in the London area about 8 miles west along the A4 from Marble Arch.
I havent fished Syon Park but have heard its good.
As far as reccomendations go for fishing over here I have stuck to mainly fly fishing for trout but with a bit of travel you can get inot some nice salmon too. I havent fished Scotland yet but that is high on my to do list.
I did some sea fishing in Guernsey for Sead Bass and Pollack which was good fun and is well worth a look too.

NICE fish:eek:
that's one Super-Sized rainbow!!
Are they fed pellets/dough regularly or is he just a greedy bugger?

Not sure if they are fed reguarly but the place was absolutely buzzing with mayflys, dragonflys etc so no shortage of natural food for the trout to feast on.

you'll find that most of the trout over
there are grown in pen's and fed
pellet's.
when they reach a certain size/wieght
they are released into the dam thats why
if you noticed the fins are not fully formed
because of the cramped conditions they
grow in as well as they don't get much
time outside the cage's befor they are
caught so they don't get the time to grow on.
some trout lucky enough to avoid capture
for awhile will feed under the cage's on
pellet's that fall through and have been
caught up to 40lb on flie's tied to
represent these pellet's.
i think they are an ugly looking fish reared this way,but when your paying $200+au
a day to fish size counts. give me an ozzi
trout any day.

Gday Darren,
Ive been living over here since August 06 and using the UK as a base to travel Europe from......been having an absolute ball and drinking far too much :P
I leave this wednesday to go to Thailand with my brother for two weeks and then I am coming home for two months before heading back over to the UK to keep travelling.......Haing too much fun to stop now and I have to be back here before festival season for sure :)
We'll have to get out again for a sesh when I get back.......I plan to fish lots when I get home cos I rarely get the chance over here.....and well its not exactly the same as home when I do :)
Terbo,
I cant remember exactly but I dont think it cost me anywhere near $200 for the day......I think it was about £20 or so.
I do agree that wild trout are better but you take what you can get over here and 9lb is 9lb...hehe.
That said Im going to Scotland later this year to fly fish for wild trout and salmon which will no doubt be much more fun :)
